    The province of Saskatchewan issued its first Entrepreneur invitations of 2019 on January 3. A total of 90 candidates were invited with scores ranging from 115 to 150 under the category’s points assessment grid. Saskatchewan’s Entrepreneur Category is for eligible candidates who would like to establish, acquire or partner in a business that meets specified provincial criteria. In order to be eligible, interested immigrant entrepreneurs must first submit an Expression of Interest to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. An EOI is a pre-application that screens interested candidates for eligibility and provides them with a ranking score based on the Entrepreneur Category’s points assessment grid. Manitoba held its second Expression of Interest draw of December on Thursday, issuing 492 invitations to immigration candidates in its Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams.   These streams are part of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), which allows Manitoba to nominate a set number of economic immigration candidates for permanent residence each year.     PEI has issued 1,240 invitations through its Express Entry and Labour Market categories in 2018. Prince Edward Island issued new invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to candidates in its Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact immigration categories in a new draw held December 20.   A total of 65 invitations were issued to Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates and another nine were issued to candidates in the Business Impact: Work Permit Stream.
