    ALBERTA | CANADA IMMIGRATION | EXPRESS ENTRY DRAW Alberta invited 401 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in its last two selection rounds, the province’s immigrant nominee program has revealed.  A selection round held October 24 invited 372 candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three Federal High Skilled economic immigration categories — the  Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.     Rural communities around Alberta could get a boost of around 40,000 newcomers over the next four years under policies being proposed by the province’s United Conservative Party.   Albertans will vote for a new provincial government this spring and a number of polls have shown the United Conservative Party (UCP) and its leader, Jason Kenney, leading with decided voters.     Ontario, Nova Scotia and Alberta use so-called ‘passive’ immigration streams to search the Express Entry pool for eligible candidates.     The Government of Canada has unveiled a new five-year economic immigration pilot that will help rural and northern communities in Ontario, Western Canada and Canada’s three territories attract and retain skilled foreign workers.
